COURSE PRESENTATION
Diabetic foot is one of the most feared complications of Diabetes mellitus, affecting between 19-34% of diabetics throughout life. The morbidity resulting from foot ulceration is significative, with a 20% risk of limb amputation and mortality rates of 50-70% at 5 years. This is a complex problem that requires multidisciplinary intervention to optimize results.

The main goal of this course is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot, providing a set of advanced technical skills and knowledge to healthcare professionals who come into contact with these patients – doctors, nurses and podiatrists. These tools will allow them to offer highly differentiated care, reducing the associated morbidity and, fundamentally, limb amputation rates.

The course is presented in two modules and designed with a focus on practical problem solving, presented in an interactive way, stimulating multidisciplinary discussion and the acquisition of relevant knowledge.
