COURSE PRESENTATION
This unique course emphasizes learning-by-doing with a practical and clinically based focus. Its learner-centred model enables sessions to be customized to individual needs for those who want more background and skills in clinical ethics. The course is a series of online recorded sessions followed by two face-to-face group discussions based on practical cases related to the issues and topics of the recorded sessions. Each recorded session focuses on core aspects of clinical healthcare ethics. Participants need to watch the recorded sessions before the face-to-face sessions discussions in order to be prepared for the group discussions. This course will be taught in Portuguese.
TARGET AUDIENCE
All professionals in healthcare, including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, biomedical researchers, health managers, hospital administrators, pharmaceutical and medical devices industry professionals, clergy, social workers, law professionals, ethicists and members of ethics committees, seeking to enhance their clinical healthcare ethics skills and expand their experience.

Professionals and academics who teach bioethics, law, philosophy, or another related discipline at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level and who are looking for experience to ground their teaching in clinical healthcare ethics practice.

  1. To identify fundamental concepts and principles for the understanding of ethical issues in clinical health care.
  2. To implement a method for analysing ethical cases in clinical health care.
